LASER EQUIPMENT FOR POSITIONING, MARKING AND PRODUCTION

QteC supplies laser equipment to industrial companies where laser technology is used for positioning, marking and controlling work processes. Line laser, point laser or cross laser

A line laser is used to project a visible line onto a material, workbench, machine or workpiece. The line can be used as a visual guide for placement, marking, cutting, assembly or inspection across all industries.

In industry, line lasers are used to show where materials should be placed or where processing should take place. This can be, for example, when cutting wood, placing textiles, assembling components or adjusting items in a production cell.

If the marking is not to be a line, a dot laser or cross laser can be used instead.
A dot laser can be used when one point needs to be marked on an item or surface, for example where a button needs to be sewn or to assist in adjusting machine parts over long distances.
While a cross laser can be used when two axes need to be displayed simultaneously. Cross lasers make it easier to place labels or mark where to drill holes.

2D LASER POSITIONING FOR FLAT PARTS

2D laser positioning is typically used on flat workpieces and work areas where the location needs to be shown in the X and Y directions. It can be used for component placement, assembly guidance, quality control, and visual work guides where laser lines show where individual parts need to be mounted or machined.

For example, when assembling a truss or placing parts on a table where the workpiece is flat, the laser equipment can display a model, line or outline directly on the work surface, allowing the operator to place the components correctly without physical marking.

3D LASER POSITIONING FOR SHAPED AND CURVED PARTS

3D laser positioning is used when the marking needs to follow an object with shape, height or curves. Here, the laser equipment can project markings onto more complex surfaces where a regular flat marking is not enough.

This can be, for example, when assembling or placing components on a wind turbine blade, where the marking must follow the arc of the workpiece. In this way, laser equipment can be used as a visual guide in production where the workpiece is not flat or has a geometry that requires marking in multiple directions.

WHERE ARE LASERS USED IN INDUSTRY?

Lasers are used in many production environments where a clear visual marking can assist with placement, measurement or processing of materials.

Laser equipment is used for, among other things:

  • Positioning / placing of workpieces on machine tables
  • Line marking when cutting and machining
  • Placement of wood, boards and profiles
  • Marking on textiles, leather, rubber and foam
  • Assembly of technical components
  • Correct placement of labels
  • Placement of elements in concrete production, e.g. construction of a mold
  • Marking in CNC and cutting systems, e.g. placement of suction cups

In the wood industry, line lasers are used, for example, for sawing, cutting and positioning of boards. In the textile industry, laser lines can show where the material needs to be placed or cut. In the metal industry, laser equipment can be used as a visual guide for processing, assembly and inspection.

In production, lasers can contribute to fewer errors, less post-processing and more consistent workflows.

LASER EQUIPMENT FOR NEW AND EXISTING PRODUCTION PLANTS

Laser equipment can be incorporated into both new and existing production environments and can be installed together with machines, workstations or automated systems.

In some cases, a line laser is used as a stand-alone marking aid at a workstation. In other cases, multiple lasers are part of an overall system where lines, dots or crosses show locations in a larger work area.
